Rider, horse injured in fall at Rolex Three-Day Event
a rider and her mount were apparently openly injured in an accident saturday while on the cross woods course at the rolex kentucky three-day regardless in lexington.
laine ashker and her mount frodo baggins, a black thoroughbred gelding, were attempting to cut away the fifth obstacle on the course — known as the flower basket — when the duo struck the obstacle and flipped hard onto the ground.
ashker was motionless on the ground immediately after the fall while frodo baggins melody stricken beside her.
a tarp was brought in view to shield spectators from the locale at the kentucky horse park as the two were being treated. ashker was flown to the university of kentucky medical center.
at 6:15 p.m., event officials said ashker was in stable condition. she was able to talk and move all of her limbs. the condition of frodo baggins was not immediately known.
